SPAY/NEUTER
A New Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic Based in Carteret County
The tide is turning in coastal North Carolina with plans to start our own new, low-cost mobile spay/neuter clinic, based in Carteret County. Staffed with a NC-licensed veterinarian and technicians, our mobile unit will serve the needs of low-income pet owners in our community, as well as local animal shelters, rescue groups, and feral cat care-givers. The mobile clinic will be equipped to spay/neuter 25-35 cats and dogs a day, five days a week, at a reduced cost. When not in use as a spay/neuter clinic, the mobile unit can be used as a mobile adoption center and as an emergency response vehicle during a disaster.
We have reached our funding goal of $275,000 to open the new mobile clinic, however we aren’t finished yet. We have a new goal of $10,000 to help pay for operational expenses. Your continued support has been the reason we are making this dream a reality.
Thank you for your continued support.
By joining together as a community, we can reduce the number of unwanted, homeless animals.
Fact:
A bit of history…
Encore Pets’ has been committed to offering low-cost spay/neuter clinics for six years
Encore Pets / POP-NC Spay/Neuter Clinics
2006 – 2012
Our primary objective in offering spay/neuter clinics is to reduce the number of kittens and puppies that end up homeless or in our local shelters. We’ve held fifteen low-cost spay/neuter clinics at the Duke Marine Lab, in collaboration with the Pet Overpopulation Patrol–NC out of Chapel Hill. Through these clinics, we have assisted in the spay/neuter of 1,297 cats and dogs. Encore Pets covers gas for the POP-NC mobile unit and lodging for the veterinary staff. The huge demand from the public for these clinics demonstrates the pressing need for these services in our area. Encore Pets is the only non-profit animal welfare organization offering low-cost spay/neuter services to our community. We are planning a Spay Day 2012 weekend spay/neuter clinic in February 2012, details coming soon.
